An architect by profession, educator by passion, researcher, AI and innovation advocate, author, pageant achiever, model and public personality, Anurakkti has continually expanded the meaning of professional identity. Based in Pune, her journey has moved across architecture, academia, emerging technology, research, pageantry, fashio,n and public platforms.

Yet, beneath these seemingly diverse pursuits lies one consistent philosophy: never stop learning, experimenti, ng and reinventing yourself.

Building a Foundation in Architecture

Anurakkti’s professional journey began with architecture, a discipline that taught her to look at the world through the lens of design, structure, materials, functionality, and human experience.

Architecture also shaped the way she approaches problems. For her, a creative idea becomes meaningful only when it can translate into a practical, buildabl,e and purposeful solution.

Her passion for learning eventually evolved into a passion for teaching. Today, she serves as an Assistant Professor at SMEF’s Brick School of Architecture, Pune, where she works to create an educational environment that goes beyond conventional classroom learning.

For Anurakkti, architectural education is not simply about completing a syllabus or producing impressive drawings. It is about encouraging students to think critically, question assumptions, experiment fearless, ly and understand how ideas become reality.

Her teaching philosophy can be captured in a simple yet powerful principle:

“Relate Design with Details.”

A design, in her view, is incomplete if its creator cannot understand how it will ultimately be constructed, serviced, structured, documented, and managed.

Turning the Studio into a Laboratory

This philosophy influences the way Anurakkti approaches architectural studios. She encourages students to move beyond presentations and drawings and engage with architecture through physical models, construction experiments, case studies, site visits, workshops, software, industry interaction, and real-world problem-solving.

Her approach brings together traditional architectural learning and emerging technology.

Physical models and hands-on experimentation coexist with digital design tools and AI-assisted workflows. Students are encouraged to see, build, test, analys,e and question their ideas.

For Anurakkti, technology is most valuable when it strengthens human thinking rather than replacing it.

Embracing the AI Revolution

As Artificial Intelligence began transforming industries, including architecture and education, Anurakkti chose curiosity over hesitation.

She became increasingly interested in the possibilities of Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI in architectural education and professional practice.

Rather than viewing AI as a substitute for human creativity, she advocates using it as a tool for exploration, research, visualization, ideati, on and problem-solving.

Her research in this area led to the paper “Architecting the Future: Harnessing Generative AI for Revolutionary Education and Practice,” which she presented at the COA Transformations International Conference at DY Patil, Mumbai.

She has also organised and conducted faculty development programmes focused on Generative AI and Augmented Intelligence, helping educators explore how emerging technologies can be meaningfully integrated into teaching and professional practice.

Her approach reflects a broader belief: technology should not make people think less—it should enable them to think differently and explore further.

Research That Looks Beyond Theory

Innovation, however, is not limited to digital technology in Anurakkti’s work.

Her academic interests also extend to sustainable construction and material innovation. Through an ASPIRE Research Mentorship Grant from Savitribai Phule Pune University, she has worked on a feasibility study exploring recycled concrete derived from construction and demolition waste.

The research examines its environmental relevance and potential application in low-cost ferrocement toilet modules.

This work reflects an important aspect of Anurakkti’s academic philosophy: research should not remain confined to papers and presentations. It should explore practical possibilities that can contribute to addressing environmental and social challenges.

The Courage to Step Outside the Comfortable

After years of establishing herself as an architect and educator, Anurakkti decided to challenge herself in a completely different arena: pageantry.

For someone coming from architecture and academia, entering the pageant world was more than a change of environment. It was an opportunity to test herself—her confidence, communication, grooming, stage presence, and ability to connect with an audience.

In 2025, she participated in Mrs. India Pride of Nation, emerging as the Runner-Up and Best Catwalk Winner.

The experience became an important turning point in her personal journey.

Beyond the Crown

For Anurakkti, pageantry was never simply about winning a title.

The preparation introduced her to new dimensions of confidence, presentation, fashion, communication, and performance. These qualities complemented the leadership and communication skills she had already developed through years of teaching and professional practice.

More importantly, the pageant experience challenged the traditional idea of a professional identity.

It demonstrated that an architect could walk confidently onto a national pageant stage. An educator could become a public personality. A researcher could explore fashion. And a professional deeply rooted in academia could willingly become a beginner again.

The crown, therefore, represented more than recognition. It represented permission to explore another side of herself.

From Pageantry to Modelling

The pageant experience naturally opened another chapter—modelling and fashion.

Anurakkti is now exploring opportunities across fashion, jewellery, editorial and commercial campaigns, lifestyle brands and screen-oriented projects. Her journey has also extended toward opportunities related to pageant judging and grooming, allowing her to experience the industry from a new perspective.

Yet, she does not view modelling as a departure from architecture or education.

Instead, she sees it as another form of creative expression.

Architecture gave her a visual understanding of form, proportion and aesthetics. Education developed her communication and leadership abilities. Pageantry strengthened her confidence and stage presence. Modelling provides another platform where these qualities can come together.

The Writer Within

Anurakkti’s creativity extends beyond architecture, research and fashion.

She is also a published Hindi poetry author, having written “Pyar Nakhre and Jadu.”

Writing gives her a different form of expression—one that moves away from the structured logic of architecture and academia and into the world of emotions, imaginatio,n and personal reflection.

It is another reminder that creativity does not belong to a single profession or medium.

Redefining the Meaning of Success

Perhaps the most compelling lesson from Anurakkti Yadav’s journey is her understanding of success as something that does not have to be linear.

Society often encourages people to choose one profession, establish themselves within ,it and remain there. But Anurakkti’s journey challenges that assumption.

A professional can change direction without abandoning everything they have built.

An educator can become an AI and innovation advocate.

An architect can become a pageant achiever.

A researcher can explore modelling.

A teacher can become a published author.

And a woman can build a serious academic career while simultaneously exploring fashion, public platforms and new creative possibilities.
